As a forward thinking technology company, we provide fully-integrated, flexible, reliable, and scalable workforce management software and hardware solutions that process in real time, using Push Technology.

NOVAtime’s strategy for success emphasizes continued research and development of new technologies that allow us to remain on the cutting-edge of workforce management policies, processes, and tools. Therefore, we commit 60% of our revenues each year back into research and development of our product. This supports our goal to provide a well-rounded product that integrates with multiple applications (HRIS, Payroll, Finance, and ERP) to allow any organization to run efficiently across all departments and locations.

2. How is your business doing? 

In its 14 years of operation, NOVAtime has maintained financial stability and continued growth in staff size, product offerings, and clientele. We provide solutions and services to over 10,000 organizations with staff sizes ranging from just a few to over 80,000 employees, resulting in millions of lives accessing and using NOVAtime solutions each day.

3. What gets you going? 

NOVAtime is a technology-driven company, empowered and backed by a skilled and enthusiastic team. Over 70% of NOVAtime’s resources are college graduates with degrees in technical fields, applying their diverse knowledge towards building amazing business tools and features that continue to enhance our solutions. It is our passion to utilize the latest technology to improve our customers’ time and attendance processes and enrich the workforce management experience.

4. What are your products or services, and key benefits?

The NOVAtime 4000 application is the foundation of our workforce management system. It includes robust time and attendance features, as well as tools for efficient scheduling, leave management, benefit accrual calculations, reporting, expense tracking, and much more. We also offer a number of powerful time clocks and other data collection methods for a comprehensive and integrated solution.

5. Who are your customers? Can you share a brief success story?

NOVAtime provides services to over 10,000 businesses of all sizes and complexities. 6. How do you find new customers? Or customers find you?

NOVAtime has a strong internal sales team and over 50 resellers in the United States. We also partner with many payroll and HR alliances who offer our workforce management solutions to their own customers. Through these resources, we’re able to actively find new customers and happily provide services to those who find us.

7. What is your biggest challenge? What help do you need to overcome this? 

As NOVAtime grows as a company, we face constant changes in processes, environment, dynamics, etc. Through these new experiences, it is important for us to maintain NOVAtime’s core business values, and we do so by dedicating time and resources to ensure that team members stay focused on our company culture.

8. What are your 2013 goals? Did you kill them? 

This year, NOVAtime went above and beyond to accomplish its goals.

SSAE16 SOC 1 Type II compliance: NOVAtime completed an in-depth SSAE 16 audit and was declared compliant in May 2013. The SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type II report indicates that our processes, procedures, and controls have been evaluated, tested, and approved by an independent accounting and auditing firm. Overall, this achievement is a strong indication that NOVAtime’s products are backed by high quality resources and services.

Technology: NOVAtime strives to remain up to date with technology trends. This year, we accomplished this goal with the release of NOVAtimeLive™ for Windows 8/RT. This application functions as an extension of the NOVAtime 4000 SaaS solution and offers mobility, a live dashboard, and real-time features. NOVAtimeLive™ also utilizes the convenience of live tiles that compliments the functionality of Windows 8 PCs and Windows RT tablets (e.g. Microsoft Surface).

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) support: The PPACA (or ACA) includes a “shared responsibility” provision, which requires businesses to provide health care coverage if certain qualifications are met. NOVAtime added a PPACA module that helps customers comply with the provision and avoid penalties.

Community involvement: In addition to contributing to business efficiency, NOVAtime contributes to community recovery and development by donating to disaster relief efforts and participating in local school initiatives.  As a notion of gratitude, we continue to offer aid to the community that has enabled NOVAtime to grow to what it is today.

2013 contributions –

  • Troy High School summer internship program – this past summer, NOVAtime hosted four student interns who gained hands-on experience across various departments.
  • Tzu Chi Free clinic – several NOVAtime employees volunteered at a free clinic in San Bernardino to help disadvantaged residents receive medical, dental, and vision care.
  • American Cancer Society – NOVAtime showed continued the support for the “Relay for Life” program by donating to the fundraiser.
  • Disaster relief – NOVAtime contributed donations to disaster relief efforts that were delivered to China following the earthquake in April and to the Philippines after typhoon Haiyan struck in November.
  • Overseas donations – NOVAtime donated computers to Collège Marie-Anne and Christ the King Secretarial School in Haiti.

9. Can you share some tips with our community?

Here at NOVAtime, we enjoy what we do, and we are very fortunate to have created products and services that generate revenue to support our passion for technology. NOVAtime team members genuinely care about our customers, and they work hard to solve end-user business challenges using our timekeeping solutions. Likewise, NOVAtime cares about its employees and strives to create a work environment that is friendly, high-tech, and professional. Our break room at NOVAtime headquarters is equipped with Wii and X-Box game systems, as well as a Netflix subscription, so employees can kick back and enjoy various entertainment options during their breaks. We also promote healthy snacking by arranging fresh fruit to be delivered to the office weekly, and, because NOVAtime is a “green” company, we recycle and provide free coffee mugs to all employees as a way to minimize waste from the use of paper and plastic cups.
